Most deal services point a scraper at the internet and forward whatever it spits out, which is how you end up with an inbox full of airport hotels.
hotelmaxx works the other way round. The property list is vetted up front and the price history is checked by hand. If it is not somewhere worth staying, it never reaches you.
That is also why the volume is low on purpose. One or two a week per country is the point. Send thirty and none of them would be worth opening.
